Refreshing Feminine Face Mask

There's nothing like the simplicity of oats and dried roses to end a night of some mid-week self-care. I love the smell of roses and find that it really uplifts my mood. I believe this face mask is dainty and feminine, though it could be used by anyone. I actually received these dried roses for Valentine's Day, so I thought this would be a perfect way to incorporate them into my own routine.

This face mask is super simple and only uses 3 common ingredients. As I have written in my last post Thank you, Papayas! , face masks only require a base, add-on, and a liquid. I have this really amazing book called, The Naturopathica Effect: A Holistic-Approach to Self-Care, which really goes into detail about the components of each self-care routine and enhanced my knowledge in multiple ways. I have found especially found it helpful throughout my personal journey of creating and making skin-care from home.

Ingredients:

• 3 tbsp oats (base)

• 1 tbsp dried rose petals (add-on)

•. 2 tbsp honey (liquid)

• 1 tbsp water (liquid)

Directions:

- Mix oats and dried rose petals in a blender

- Place mixture in a bowl and pour in liquid

- Put on skin and allow to sit for 10-20 minutes

Benefits:

Oats:

- Rich in antioxidants

- Humectant --> helps skin retain moisture

- Deep cleanses without drying out skin

- Undoes damage on skin (from pollution, UV Rays, & Chemicals)- Reduces itching and inflammation

- Soothes burns and rashes

Roses:

- Contains anti-inflammatory properties

- Maintains skin's PH balance- Reduces redness and irritated skin

- Contains natural oils and sugars --> locks moisture into skin

- Controls excess oils

- Stress-reliever

Honey:

- Contains antioxidants, antiseptic, and antibacterial qualities

- Cleanses dirt, oils, and impurities

- Gently opens pours and rids

- Hydrates skin and helps skin tone

- Creates a "glow"

It is very clear that there are many beneficial properties of this face mask.. I believe these ingredients also offer therapeutic properties, because it leaves me feeling so relaxed and calm. I found the face mask leaving a really nourishing effect in a very gentle way. After rinsing off with warm water, my skin felt buttery, yet not oily. I think that I will start using this face mask more into my daily routine because I really enjoyed my experience with it, I even stored my leftovers into a mason jar to use tomorrow. .I think that it is time-efficient and one that can be created with everyday ingredients.

Treat yourself to making a simple, stress-relieving face mask.
