Made with Love: Lavender Lemonade

Fresh, calming, and full of love! An all-around delightful drink, this easy-to-make Lavender Lemonade will keep you coming back for more!

Lavender Lemonade has been my favorite beverage for around 8 years now. I first tried this concoction at one of my beloved plant-based hometown cafés, Native Foods in Orange County, California. After that, I quickly would drive out of my way to get this drink, or 3 of them, when I was emotional or feeling down. This lemonade would always uplift my mood and is one of favorite ways of practicing self-care.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always enjoyed lemonade and it was my go-to beverage at any restaurant I went to. However, adding Lavender to the mix is not only a power move because of its taste, but the calming effects that it has on the mind and body do not go unnoticed!

All you need is 3 easy ingredients:

Lavender: Perfect for boosting and improving moods due to helping endocrine system and hormonal balance, improves dry skin, and aids relaxation and deep sleep

Lemon: Rejuvenating, refreshing, great for the metabolism, anti-inflammatory, packed with Vitamin C, and helps maintain healthy skin complexion during the summer

Honey: Great source of antioxidants, anti-bacterial, anti-septic, aids digestion and sleep, stabilizes insulin (diabetic-friendly), and soothes the throat

Also, just wanted to point out that I know a lot of people who are plant-based do not consume honey because of the decline in bees and their importance in our ecosystem. I do choose to eat honey, especially if I am in Europe, because I believe that their agricultural practices are different than the U.S.'s. I also try to get my hands on locally-sourced or home-made honey from small bee farms because these places do contribute to adding more bees to population.

My honey is from my boyfriend's family, who has a small bee farm about 15 minutes away from where I am currently residing. I feel good not only physically when eating honey, but I also enjoy knowing where it came from and that I am supporting a local small business who has ethical practices and sustainability in mind.
