Who can resist a smoothie bowl? Everyone loves them. I have had a plethora of variations of smoothie bowls: for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. I crave them pretty often because they are so delicious and it gives my body an extra boost- smoothie bowls are high in vitamins such as magnesium, vitamin C, vitamin K, Manganese, Potassium, and Omega-3's
You are welcome to make it with the ingredients you prefer, but I tend to throw strawberries, bananas, blueberries, and blackberries that I have previously frozen into a blender. I usually combine it with a spoonful of nut butters- almond butter, peanut butter, etc- hemp protein powder, coconut, chia seeds, agave, a lil bit of coconut butter, a little bit of water, and any nut milks- coconut, almond, hazelnut, etc- and blend it all up.
• For a more citrus feel: add oranges, lemon juice, or some lime juice in the mix.
• For dessert, I throw in some cacao powder, dates, nuts, cinnamon, and I also leave out the
strawberries in the blend.
• To add some iron in the mix- throw some kale or spinach in the blended mix.
• Smoothie bowls are also perfect for blending in protein mixes, green mixes, matcha
powder, etc. that many people rely on for their vitamins. I would just add a little extra liquid
for those mixes, so it doesn't get too chalky.
Toppings vary depending on my mood, but I usually stick with some granola on top, chia seeds, hemp seeds, nuts, fresh fruit- I like blueberries, strawberries, bananas, blackberries, etc.- almonds, coconut, maybe some dates, goji berries, or dried apricots, and bunch of coconut. I loooove coconut!
This probably takes around 15 minutes total to make and consume- it is THAT good.
